Some deportees from the United Kingdom have said they could not locate their family members in Nigeria.

41 deportees from the UK last Wednesday and they landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at about 8am in a chartered Airbus 330 aircraft.

They were reportedly deported for alleged immigration offences. A 37-year old Yoruba man who said he left Nigeria about 17 years ago added that he had lost touch with home. The man narrated that though he gathered resources to travel to the UK, he could not raise the money to process stay papers.

Another Igbo deportee said he might not be able to trace the parents because he learnt they had relocated home from Lagos after he left for greener pastures. An aged deportee woman, said he had lost touch with her relatives, including her children as she left Nigeria some decades back.
