Pep Guardiola sounded thoroughly down but not out after his side’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham in the Premier League this evening.
The Spanish strategist hasn’t had the easiest time since moving to England in the summer, Premier League plus the challenge at City proving bigger than many would have expected.
Despite taking a 2-0 lead against Spurs today, City lost their lead and only came away with a point from the Etihad Stadium as they face the prospect of being 12 points behind league leaders Chelsea by the end of the weekend. Guardiola certainly sounded like a man aware of the sinister-looking situation after the game, when he sounded positively fed up of how things have been going for his side.
‘We are not going to achieve big targets, it’s impossible. We will try,’ he said afterwards. ‘We create too much and we get nothing.’
