A 42 year-old mother of seven, Mrs. Eunice Elisha, was on Saturday morning murdered by unknown assailants while preaching around Gbazango-West area of Kubwa, a satellite town in the Federal Capital Territory.
Eunice, who was a Deaconess at the Divine Touch Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Old NEPA Road, Phase 4, Kubwa, was said to have been cut in the neck and also stabbed in the stomach.
It was learnt that her killers left her in the pool of her blood with her bible, megaphone and cellphone. Her remains were discovered by residents who alerted policemen who came to evacuate her body to the police station where her husband went to identify her.
Speaking to newsmen at their residence, Eunice’ husband, Mr. Olawale Elisha, who is also a pastor at RCCG, said his wife had gone out preaching in the neighbourhood at about 5am only for him to hear the report of her murder through his sons.
Olawale, who expressed shock over the death of his wife, looked pensive and dejected as he spoke. Narrating how he got to know of her murder, her husband of 16 years, Pastor Elisha Olawale, said
“Two of my sons who are footballers went to the field to play. They just came back to tell me that they heard some footballers saying that they butchered a woman preaching the gospel early this morning. When they told me, I trekked down. When I got there, I didn’t see anybody but I saw blood on the ground. I then asked a policeman about a woman who was butchered to death. He said yes its true and they have taken her to the police station. When we got to the police station, my wife was at the back of the pickup. They removed her head and two legs. We have taken her to the mortuary”he said.
