Jose Mourinho, former Chelsea boss and family enjoy plush Nannai resort. Relaxing with his family in a £7,500-a-week hotel villa with its own private pool and gazebo.
Jose Mourinho, the former Chelsea manager will see in the New Year with wife Tami and children Matilde and Jose Jnr at the Nannai Resort and Spa in north-eastern Brazil. A hotel worker, who asked not to be named, told a local paper Mourinho was staying at the resort after his agent Jorge Mendes confirmed he was on holiday in Brazil. The paper claimed he was trying to keep a low profile and had joked with one guest who had asked for a picture by saying “Only in the presence of my lawyer”.
A local football team have reacted to news of Mourinho’s arrival in the country by publishing a hilarious job offer. Ibis Sport Club, known as the worst side in the world, offered the former Chelsea boss a two-year contract including monthly payment of a food hamper, bonuses for each game lost, a wage increase every time they were thrashed and a P45 if the team won a title.
The publication of the job offer on the team’s social media sites coincided with Latin America’s equivalent of April’s Fools Day, celebrated at the end of December.
A spokesman for the club, which gained the title of the world’s worst during a 55-game run without a victory in the 80s, joked: “We can’t guarantee his continuance in our club if we have two wins on the trot or win a title.”
Mourinho, the Premier League’s highest-paid manager on £10.5m a year until he was sacked earlier this month, has previously spent Christmas breaks with his family in Dubai, Paris and New York.
Agent Mendes told Sky Sport Italia on Monday he was comfortable about his client getting a job because he is the best in the world.
He said: “Mourinho is now in Brazil. Let’s see what will happen when he returns. “Jose has to feel comfortable because he is the No1 in the world.”
