Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and her husband

Divorce will be costly for CHERYL Fernandez-Versini if she ever splits from her husband, she looking to pay her Hubby £8m experts have warned.

Divorce expert Solicitors said the Girls Aloud star may be forced to give up half of her £16million fortune if she goes her own way from French lover Jean-Bernard. The money could be up for grabs as the singer refused to sign a prenuptial agreement to protect her cash. X Factor judge Cheryl has remained silent over rumours her marriage is in crisis.

Yesterday, the singer deleted a picture of the French entrepreneur, 34, from her Instagram account leaving just one image of her husband on the social media site. If the two part ways, Cheryl faces losing more than just her spouse. She may surrender a small fortune.

James Brown, a partner in Manchester law firm JMW, said: “In the event Cheryl and her new partner divorce, the starting point for the court will be that her husband is entitled to half of her wealth.

The couple

The hunky restaurateur tied the knot with the Geordie beauty, 32, in a secret ceremony in Mustique, West Indies in July last year. Party animal Jean-Bernard reportedly dished out £300,000 on a diamond encrusted ring for his wife. But the pair have been rocked by whispers of a split for months. The Parachute hit-maker’s wealth comes from her singing career, TV appearances and endorsements. She previously raged at the idea of a pre-marriage agreement, dubbing them “disgusting”.

JB also has assets, being a partner in the trendy Cosy Box pop-up bar in Cannes.  Mr Brown said they could still protect their money if worse comes to worst.

“She can still draw up an agreement,” he added.“A pre-nup would not only limit her exposure to a small fraction of her wealth but would have the advantage of agreeing a figure now rather than a dispute at the other end when emotions can often run high.”

My problem why jump into the marriage in the first instance.
