Coffee Shop SICKO with a craving for more than caffeine was caged for secretly filming more than 3,000 people going to the loo in London cafes.
Coffee Shop Perv, George Thomas, 38, had a penchant for creeping and planted several tiny “key-fob” cameras in the bathrooms of coffee shop chains in and around central London. His creeping spree went undetected for six years, but Thomas was caught out when an employee spotted one of his gadgets in their workplace shower. Cops investigated and found videos of him planting the cameras as well as loo footage from surrounding cafes.
Thomas was sentenced to four years after pleading guilty to ten counts of voyeurism and five counts of making indecent images of children yesterday (21 December). Another camera was discovered in a nearby cafe and two more in his possession upon his arrest. Hard drives and computers with the filthy pictures and videos of thousands of unsuspecting Londoners were found in his locker.
“Over the course of his offending it is believed he filmed over 3,000 men, women, children, and on a number of occasions people known to him,” a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said. Detective constable Sarah Gardner described Thomas’ actions as “appalling”.She said: “The images of unsuspecting people going about their daily business, and having their privacy breached in this way was appalling. “Thomas’s offending was extraordinary, not just because of the sheer numbers of people he filmed but also due to the highly organised way in which he saved, stored and filed the footage.”
