The Clueless actress said Black History Month and channels like BET and awards ceremonies which only honour black people should be got rid of.
Clueless Actress, Dash has blasted the Oscars boycott while saying “segregated” channels like BET need to be scrapped. More after the cut….
The actress and Fox News contributor, made famous for her role in Clueless, wasn’t holding back when it came to airing her opinions about the boycott championed by Jada Pinkett Smith and Spike Lee.
Weighing in on the debate on Fox & Friends, she said: “I think it’s ludicrous. We have to make up our minds. Either we want to have segregation or integration. If we don’t want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the [NAACP] Image Awards, where you’re only awarded it you’re black.” She continued: “If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms, it’s a double standard.” When asked again if she thinks there shouldn’t be a BET Channel, she replied: “No, I don’t think so. No. Just like there shouldn’t be a Black History Month. You know? We’re Americans. Period. That’s it.”
Shortly after BET fired back at the 49-year-old on social media.
“Soooooo @realstaceyldash, can we get our check back… or nah?” the post read alongside screenshot of Stacey on BET’s former comedy-drama series “The Game.” They also posted a link to a feature on their site titled “Every Time Stacey Dash Proved She Was Clueless.” “She thinks there needs to be a white history month too, since, you know, our ancestors apparently fought for nothing,” they continued in another post. “Clueless indeed.”
