CCTV shows two men taking presents from a family home and damaging a baby’s toys in the process.
CCTV Images released by police show the pair taking gifts including jewellery, photographic equipment, a tablet and a laptop. The suspects are believed to have climbed over a garden fence before breaking into the back of the house in Ashbourne Road in Mitcham, south London.
Once inside, they walked around, leaving dirty footprints as they rifled through the householders’ belongings. Police said soft toys, puzzles and games belonging to the victims’ baby were damaged. Officers were called to the house at around 3.15pm on Monday 14 December. They believe the raid took place some time between 9am on Saturday 12 December and about 3pm on Monday 14 December.
CCTV footage filmed at 9.59pm on Saturday 12 December shows the men taking the presents from under the tree. Other footage shows their return at around 5.40am on Sunday 13 December, police said.
Police have appealed for anyone who recognises the men to get in touch. The first man, who was wearing a mask over his face, is described as in his 20s and of medium build, with thick eyebrows. He was wearing a zip top with three stripes on the shoulders, with the hood up, jeans, trainers and gloves.The second man is also in his 20s, black and of slim build with a dark beard.
He was wearing a dark-coloured zip-up jacket over a light-coloured hooded top, loose fitting trousers, dark trainers with a reflective strip on the heel, and gloves.
