British Man Arrested After Bomb Threat At Amsterdam Airport.


The man was immediately arrested and a photograph posted online appered to show him lying face down on the ground as two armed officers pointed a gun at him

A British man has been arrested at Amsterdam airport after allegedly making bomb threats – causing the airport to be evacuated.

The 29-year-old British Man was reportedly heard screaming threats at Schiphol Airport’s terminal 3 in the early hours of this morning, causing passengers to flee in a panic. He was eventually apprehended by two armed police officers, with photographs later emerging of a man lying spread eagled on the floor.

In the picture, the man who has not been named appears to be wearing jeans, a grey top and a hat.  A search later revealed no bombs or explosive devices and the airport was reopened shortly afterwards.

The man was later pictured being escorted away from the airport by police

A Dutch Royal Military Police spokeman Said ‘There was an incident at 8am (7am GMT) this morning. ‘This particular passenger made a bomb threat which was heard by other passengers. ‘We had to arrest him very quickly. We searched the man and his luggage but there was nothing on him.‘We had to close certain check-ins and clear the area but we did not find anything and they have now reopened.’

The man is now being questioned on suspicion of making bomb threats.
