A 16-year-old boy has been stabbed to death outside a friend’s birthday party in northeast London.
Charlie Kutuyampo had been at the girl’s 16th birthday celebrations with around 100 other people at a social club in a park in Woodford. Outside the building, there was a confrontation between the victim who was alone and four male youths, said police.More after the cut…..
One of the males then stabbed him before all four made off on foot towards Chigwell Road, officers added. Emergency services were called to Ashton playing fields in Woodford at 9.40pm on Saturday night
He was then taken by ambulance to hospital where he was later pronounced dead. No arrests have yet been made and the killing is being investigated by detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command.
DCI Ken Hughes, leading the investigation, said: “There were around 100 young people at this party and we are appealing for anyone with information or any witnesses to come forward as soon as possible. “The victim’s family are naturally devastated and in shock by what has happened and we need the help of those at the party that night to progress our investigation.” It is the first murder of a teenager in the capital this year, Scotland Yard said.
Nineteen teenagers were murdered in London in 2015. Fifteen were stabbed to death, two others were strangled, one suffered head injuries and one died from “other” causes.
