Van Gaal – I can resign as Manchester United manager



Van Gaal has hinted that he could quit as Manchester United coach, after they lost 2-0 at Stoke City on Boxing Day.

Van Gaal stated that he could resign willingly if he has to, speaking about his future after the match at the Britannia Stadium . Bojan Krkic and Marko Arnautovic scored for the home side, as they claimed a famous victory. The defeat at the Britannia Stadium, meant the Red Devils suffered a fourth consecutive defeat in all competitions. 

“I can also quit by myself,” he told reporters. “That is something I speak to Ed Woodward [about] by himself — not with you. “It is not always [that] the club has to fire or sack me. Sometimes I do it by myself. I am the one who wants to speak first with the board of Manchester United and with my members of staff and players and not with you.”

Man United were woeful at the Britannia Stadium as they lost 2-0 to Stoke – making it seven games without a win for Van Gaal.  Stoke City compounded Louis van Gaal’s thoroughly miserable Christmas by piling the pressure on the Dutchman even more with a 2-0 win over Manchester United on Boxing Day.
